DockSafe International Sponsors Racing Yacht in Cape Town, SA.
DockSafe International are proud to announce a 3 year sponsorship of "DockSafe International", a 35ft Archambault Sailing Yacht. The A35 is designed for racing under the IRC rule and has already scored an impressive list of results on the Western Cape racing and regatta circuit.
The Western Cape sailing circuit covers a wide range of regattas, events and races in South Africa’s Western Cape region. Some of the highlights being:
- February 2011: Mykonos Offshore Event, 2 days, Langebaan
- May 2011: CTSW, 5-4 days
- May 2011: Cape Town and Hout Bay, 6 days
- September 2011: Mossel Bay Race, Cape Town to Mossel Bay, 3 days
- September 2011: False Bay Spring Regatta, Simon’s Town, 5-4 days
- December 2011: Summer Regatta, Cape Town, 4-5 days
As well these grand prix events the yacht will also compete in 3 long series:
Winter cans: April to September 2011 with one day race per month
- Spring Twilight: October to December 2011 a race every Wednesday evening
- Summer Twilight: January to March 2011 a race every Wednesday evening.
In fact the boat is racing almost every week!
Eight sailors will be onboard for each event in accordance with IRC rules and all crew members have sailed together during Western Cape Sailing Circuit 2009, Vasco Da Gama Race 2008, and all Twilight Races in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
For each race, the team will be taken from a squad of 12 sailors:
- Alexandre Monat (50): Owner of the boat, he has won many French and Portuguese provincial titles and he has been awarded colours a number of times. He is the holder of a RYA Yachtsmaster Offshore qualification, SAS skipper certificate.
After his 2nd place in the Western Cape IRC Class in 2009, Alexandre is focused on this years campaign and believes his team are in with a very strong chance to reach all the podium regularly

- Digby Wain (46) Wain Building, Western Cape Sailing Circuit for 15 years
